Когда тебе двадцать, и ты студент иняза и уже довольно бегло шпрехаешь по-английски и прекрасно помнишь текст песни, и вечер воскресенья, и все вернулись «на учёбу» из дому с полными сумками, так что водки ещё полно, и жареной картошки тоже, и вас набилось в одну комнату в общаге уже двадцать счастливых пьяных человек, и до сессии несколько месяцев, а до диплома — полжизни (года три), и жизнь безоблачна, и душа поёт.
Поёт, что характерно, хором, дурным голосом, и особенно — несложный припев, да так, что на соседнюю улицу слышно.

Это Горловка, девяносто седьмой год.

I wrote her off for the tenth time today

But she came over, I lost my nerve
